BSF provides additional academic assistant for students who need it. This includes funding Learning Assistance Professionals who focus on math, reading, and math support in grades K-8. We also fund the Achieve Program to help struggling learners. Class time is used to teach study skills, and give extra help to students in need. After school Homework Club is also an important part of support for all students.
BSF has increased funding to this area because our school district continues to face a gap between what public funding sources provide and what our students need. It is likely this gap in funding will continue to grow due to the likely reduction of Title 1 funds from the Department of Education. BSF is monitoring this situation closely and we will reach out to our community as we learn more.
